Post 1: A country I'd like to visit

Hi! In my first blog entry I'll tell you about a country I'd like to visit.

I've always wanted to visit Mexico, specially Mexico City which is the capital of said country. Ever since I read a couple of books by Roberto Bolaño, I've taken great interest in the landmarks where those novels take place in Mexico City such as the main streets, Plaza Garibaldi, and the colonial buildings. Also, a friend of mine went there a couple of years ago and he had a great time, or at least thats what he told me anyway. My friend also said he found the "Chilangos" (which is the way people from Mexico City call themselves) to be very friendly towards spanish-speaking tourists. 

Mexican food is known to be very hot and spicy, which I like a lot. Also I feel like there's a lot of talk about mexican food but we don't have a very good grasp on how it actually is, since here we only really know about tacos. Besides the food, Ive always dreamed of visiting the ancient Aztec ruins at Teotihuacán, those pyramids have fascinated me since I was a kid looking at pictures of them in books.

If I ever have the oportunity to visit Mexico I'd like to be there for at least a month, so I can get to see as much of Mexico City as posible since it's a huge place. Being there for a long time might allow me to visit the Yucatán peninsula as well, that's where the Mayan ruins like Chichen Iza are, that and the beautiful beaches at Playa del Carmen. I really wish I can visit Mexico one day!
